Conserving Matisse
In this video, Paintings Conservator Loa Ludvigsen, Curator Dorthe Aagesen, and AFSMK Executive Director Hanne Støvring take you behind the scenes at SMK's conservation studio. Thanks to the generosity of AFSMK board and patrons, the funds required to restore Henri Matisse’s "Nymph and Faun" (1919) were raised, ensuring its inclusion in the landmark 2022 exhibition Henri Matisse: The Red Studio and allowing it to safely travel to MoMA and back home to SMK again.
